Our screens continue becoming an ever more present part of our lives, and for many of us, it's time to better manage our time, attention, and our social media feed. It all starts with a breath. From here, we introduce compassion to our imperfect journey of controlling our technology; rather than letting it control us.
The 1st EVER Mindful Media Makers course is in partnership with LA County Parks. The 2nd iteration manifested in the middle school and high school of the rural high desert community of New Cuyama, CA. MMM was then introduced to the Inland Empire for the first time through Arts Connections' Arts Avenue program as an after-school offering. Intended for youth ages 10-17, this class is designed for critical thinkers and will combine media literacy principles with the fundamentals of mindfulness.

Three weeks exploring mindful media in the Cuyama Valley was breathtaking and unforgettable. Thank you to the families that welcomed me and thank you for the students for sharing their brilliance with me; I learned so much about co-creating more spaces and opportunities to pass the mic/camera/stage/canvas
and to listen to the stories we share.
